With serious floods facing this ancient Czech city, and the fact that it is a frequent destination for many Motherboards users, I thought a topic might be in order...
PRAGUE (Reuters) 13.08.02 - Czech officials on Tuesday urged tens of thousands of Prague residents to evacuate the historic capital, facing the worst flooding for over a century.
With the river Vltava already nearing the top of the city's medieval embankments, authorities ordered up to 50,000 people to flee ahead of the crest of floodwater surging in from the south of the central European country...
Sirens sounded throughout Prague, and Mayor Igor Nemec urged citizens to evacuate, saying the river would burst its banks in the early afternoon and pour onto the cobbled streets...
The 14th-century Charles Bridge, one of Prague's main tourist attractions decorated with statues of saints, was closed to allow cranes to remove tree trunks and other debris dumped there by the fast flowing river.
The Vltava river was already overflowing in some suburbs of Prague and the rain continued to fall.

In November I'm tentatively planning a trip to Berlin and was hoping to swing through Prague for a few days too. Hope there is something left to see by then!
It's probably all because of global warming. Lord knows 20 years from now what else will be under water.

I may be stopping into Prague because of a connecting flight in September. Can anyone give me any Prague lowdown?

Miss Understood- Just got back from Prague a couple of weeks ago, the place to stay is U Zlateho Stromu, good luck pronouncing that. The number is 00420 2 22 22 04 41, or you can email them a reservation hotel-zs@zlatystrom.cz and if you want to check out their website the address is: www.zlatystrom.cz. The room number to try to book is #45. (view of St.Charles bridge and a balcony) They have a disco below the hotel with strippers and some "girls" were there. If you go to the restaurant(downstairs or outside) there is a girl waitress(platinum short hair) that knows everything about the gay clubs/bars. good luck
