FRIDAY, OCTOBER 22 JACKIE 60 FURTHER presents JACKIE SOIXANTE GALERIE 213, 58 rue Charlot Paris 75003
A rare JACKIE 60 FURTHER edition in the tres-gay Marais district of Paris brings New York expats and French Jackie fans together for an evening of "poetry, performance and plaid" in Old Europe. The evening features a guest spot by ALLIGATOR BOY, the London-based performance artiste discovered by the Factory last year, readings by RACHELL HALL and Verbal Abuse God MICHAEL JAMES O'BRIEN, corsetry by the legendary MR. PEARL and a dance performance by LAYARD THOMPSON. DJ JOHNNY DYNELL spins in this elegant Gallery/Courtyard/Club and CHI CHI VALENTI will represent for the JACKIE MCs (in broken Creole French). This one-night wonder is co-produced by CABARET MAGIQUE cohort O'Brien, who opens his first solo photography show in Paris on October 20 at the same venue.
Doors open 9:30, shows begin 10 PM. Free Admission, cash bar! www.jackie60.com
Hi you guys, how excitin there´ll be a real Jackie 60 in gay Paree. I ve been lookin for the french equivalent since I moved here in 1997. It hasn´t existed until now. I guess I´ll see y all there, its Thomas, from years ago, is anyone I know coming? Who´s organizing it here(in Paris I mean)? Anyway I´ll be draggin all the NY relocations, me, Charlie Atlas and Travis at least. OK well...check out the new Crash magazine (its french but I know they have it in NY9 theres a bunch of pics taken at jackie in it.
I think of you often..so glad we'll get to catch up at Jackie Paree. Michael O'Brien is in Paris now and he is producing from that end. We have some various friends in VERY different circles who are doin some very casual pr there - also think there is a regular press person at the Hotel/Gallery/whatever it is who is sending it to Time Out and stuff like that. But any inviting you'd like to do, please do! Since there is NO COVER you dont have to worry about lists.
There will also be about 25 nyers there for Michael's opening, the huge photo week festival thingie, etc. and some other contingents coming from London and Amsterdam. But we're mostly using it as an excuse to see all of our friends who have fled there over the years - and that includes you!
That sweet and wonderfully talented young dancer, the Nijinky-ite, Ryan (I don't recall his last name) is also a new arrival in Paris. He used to be a regular at Cabaret Magique... I caught up with him at the Place des Vosges pad.
Have a wonderful time everyone and don't miss the dungeons of the medieval Louvre. They are especially grand on 'Orangina.'

Ah, to be able to go to this and join the "london contingent". No chance for me, alas, but I hope this means more jackies on this side of the Atlantic in future. As a dedicated jackie booster, I am sending some friends so
Well, at least we got to see you in London, though we were both being haunted by Pete Byrne's lips!!!
Re dresscode:
We are doing a special Jackie Soixante logo for the night and going to do tshirts - should be up in our shop by Tuesday.
Otherwise ANY Jackie 60 logo is obviously THE THING, but so is severe costuming, fetish-dressing, or bohemian bi-coastal (NY/Paris). Extra points for Mr. Pearl corsets - but I dont even own one of those!
Here for bonus beats is an interview with Mr. pearl by a Motherboards Legend, with pictures by our own rainbaud.
