Since we are dishing...uh I mean discussing Eve, I have to share my first memory. It was at a Blacklips performance at the Pyramid years ago shortly after I had moved to NYC in the early 90s. Eve did a Siouxsie number (which one I cannot recall specificly)...everybody always did a number there every week, right? Such a true egalitarian spirit but with that downtown boho edge. Anyway, I remember thinking who is this wild person all dolled up in mad gothic ensemble? I remember enjoying the number was great (being a Siouxsie fan in my younger days), but being scared of her. Of course, she was psychotic then, and now she is just poison. Speaking of that, Eve why did you change your name? Inquiring minds want to know...

As I grew older (not neccesarily wiser), "Poison" just sounded a lot classier - and that's me class (ignore the raw chicken numbers)! Besides, I'm "box office poison"...

Rose,
She used to be coatcheck girl, now she's simply a bathroom attendant.

What do Poison Eve and the Space Shuttle have in common?

I don't know, they both land in California? both cost billions of dollars? both work for large American institutions? I never was very good at jokes. I am much better in rambling on...and digressing...

Since this topic is all about Eve, I just have to share some of my fave observations over the years...like last year at Queenmother (before MOTHER closed)- when Eve did Britney's Ooops (only the single was released at the time, the album had yet to reach the masses- but that Eve was ahead of her time), but anyway- in naughty school girl drag (which- another side note- Anna Sui has totally co-opted, and those looks are in the Bloomingdales's windows- 3rd Ave side- though I must admit- very hot hot hot looks), Eve ripped through that song- but in the end pulled out a bloody heart (at least it looked like one) which was just so phenomenal. Of course, who could forget the Wiccan Spice Girls ensemble (pause for homage to Art... and oh yeah Clark was in it too)- which I thought was one of the most brilliant drag parodies I had ever seen. And I am a bit jaded when it comes to watching performances...Abby and I recently had a conversation about NYC performances, and it ended with our agreeing we need to see someone beheaded or some such thing in order to see something new, not that I actually want to see that, but you get my point). And I must add - think of all the new potential performances we will have to opportunity to see now that there will be a new venue- DADDY- but this is all about Eve. Would you like a milkshake, Eve?

I agree! Wiccan Spice Girls was awesome as was Britney. And I also agree Eve was really ahead of the curve on this. If you see the latest issue of HX Magazine, it's called POP ROCKS! It's about all the stupid faggots into N'Sync, Britney, and all that crap. (to think I actually know the DJ). But Eve's rendition of "Ooops" was brilliant. Pop Rocks indeed!

I do have to give Rob Roth props here for a second because on the cover of the "POP" issue (with a spread inside) is Click & Drag discovery Jorge "Sir Mex Alot". You remember the scandalous Click invite "Beat On The Brat" with Jorge beating his hard meat? Well, he is a superstar now, and all because of Rob & Kitty's vision. (well probably mostly Rob's) Now that's an act I can get behind.

No comments from you Isla!

Oh, as far as the "Space Shuttle" Randella...
Nope.
My money's on Goblin or Hathaway to get it. They are the only ones twisted enough.

I think Poison Eve is the Flloyd of her generation. Remember when she cut off her hair in a performance at Jackie 60?

As usual my discoveries have gone on to greener pastures! Forgetting how they got there, oh well that's what you get... one day your nowhere the next your on the cover of HX! thats life in the big city!

I think Eve is one of the greatest performers Mother ever saw! I can say I knew him when...we were both JC art students, different schools but somehow he was always lurking around the Pratt campus........a true genius.

Thanks Daddy and Scandella for giving me props...

I think I was also the first person to ever lose a belt in the Mother bathroom. I could be wrong though.

And oh, Rob, the salad days of Pratt...

New "Poison Eve" is the miracle salve you've been searching for. Just rub it on. First there will be a light stinging sensation. Then a scintillating feeling...like a vigorous massage. Soon you will be transported to a strange and beautiful world where Gothic Marys, brassy New Wave bitches, rumpled punk boys, and seasoned Vaudeville stars drink endlessly, mumbling witticisms. (Don't worry if you can't understand the mumbling. This dame's humor is drier than a Arrid factory in Nevada. Better bring some Camels.) You will be surrounded by rubber novelties, raw meat, antique properties, and a light sprinkling of white face powder. With just a dash of black lipstick. Later you will feel rejuvenated, soothed, firmed, more intelligent. Works like a dream!

Even though this is Eve's topic- I must pause while we are discussing (sorry for interrupting Miss Horse's praise & push for this miracle salve) the HX Pop Rocks article- in the photos, the boy Matt (who I don't know), but I did recognize his shirt- which is a Michael Ford original- the jet plane with KRASH in crystals across it. Though I see no mention except that the clothes came from Pat's in the credits...

Now about comparing the space shuttle and Eve, I still don't get it. Seven astronauts- it takes 7 to run the show? satisfy his desires & needs? land it safely? I really am bad at jokes...

And Eve, you are the only one who still calls me Scandella- and here I thought I had white washed my behavior and rep. I guess all those years of coatcheck at MOTHER gave you an eye-full of the shenanagins down that corridor of shame...back in the day.

Randella:

I don't get it either. Perhaps you're not really bad at jokes, but it is simply a really bad joke?
