It feels like just yesterday when little Candis arrived in this great big apple we call home with nothing but a backpack and a dream. To think that dance lessons, a class in etiquette, a good dose of hormones, and a trip to Mexico was able to turn this: ..into the fiery vixen we know today.

She has done what few girls (as they become women)ever allow themselves to do ... truly embody physically all the glimmering and golden beauty in her inner being.
She has not held back from allowing herself to become all that is possible and she continues year after year to discover new and more breathtaking ways to be all that is within herself.
Bumping into her over the years has always left me feeling a bit sun-kissed where her warm glowing gaze has fallen on me for a few moments.
She's an aspiration to us all, to not be afraid to be kind, caring and above all, to be exquisite.
Canids will be at Opaline Friday and Roxy Saturday.....a very candy filled weekend. hope to see you all there. Dont forget to go out and buy your duct tape and plastic wrap in case something bad happens this weekend. Oh wait make just get plastic wrap- alot of you already have the duct tape...

Got a chance to check out Candie's show at the Tomato last Saturday and she was super fab!
Thought there was going to be some trouble early on, because of a drunk Irishman in the front row (no it wasn't me). But Miss C handled it like a true professional and by the end of the show his friends were posing for pics with her.
My favorite part of the show was when she took her Wonderwoman act right out onto 6th AVE. I'm not exagerating when I say that....she really left the club and was spinning like Wonderwoman in the middle of the street! The crowd inside and out went nuts.
Also, had the added bonus of running into Mr. Bobby Miller at the show. He looked great and of course got a big hello from Candis herself.
She's off this week but will be back again the following Sat. If you can catch it....do so!

Ah the decadence of NYC- dancing in the streets (god forbid!)- and I love Candis' show at Tomato, but a piece of info (perhaps marketing or spin as she shared this with the audience last time I was there), but apparently she was once ticketed for spinning on the street while doing that number outside.
Someone was telling me the other day (of course I can't remember who it was) that they went to see Candice's show. They were raving. They also especially loved when she left the club and continued the show outside through the window. They said it was brilliant. She carries on with the people in the street and they become part of the show. I really want to check it out.
They were reminding me of Candice's humble beginnings...
picture goes wavey and eeery music starts:
It seems like only yesterday... Boy Bar Daddy Matthew Kasten discovered and groomed her. (Along with Sweetie, Connie, Codie, Raven, Diandra and almost every other NYC Drag Diva worth mentioning. In fact the first time I saw Nurse Randella was on the Boy Bar stage. Of course there were some hideous mistakes born at Boy Bar too but this is about Candice). Anyway, we were doing "Gone With The Wind" at Jackie 60 and were making a big to-do about casting for the role of Scarlet. Matthew was pushing for his new girl, Candice. She's going to be a big star he informed us so we should get her now. Of course she got the role (of a liftime) and the rest is Herstory.

I wouldn't be surprised if in the current enviornment if they did give her a ticket. Good news is...I don't think it would discourage that girl from doing it again!

It would be unfair to call Candis a drag queen she defies all convention.I have allyways refered to her as Hyper Real a walking vouge editorial,a living breathing play boy centerfold come to life!she is of the few divine creatures to reach this exaulted state! all hail the reimcarnation of the International Chrysis all dressed up and ready for the new melinum.
