Wow. You girls have really been at it. I've been away and am currently coordinating people at opposite ends of the earth right now so can't really give your posts the attention they deserve at this moment.
Just so you know I am not ignoring you. Really just popped in to post this gem from JM.
"Obama wouldn't know the difference between an RPG and a bong."
HA!
God Bless John McCain I forgive him here and now for McCain-Feingold.
Oh, what a relief! Thanks for the post Darla. Certainly I was not alone in feeling so ignored by you. The hurt was practically unbearable. All we really want is YOUR attention. I'm not sure we could exist otherwise.

“Compassionate conservatism” has not fared well as a presidential slogan. But if it is to have one lasting and worthy legacy, it would be the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. Begun in 2003, the program made America into the global leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS overnight. One billion dollars was devoted to prevention and treatment on the global epidemic during Bill Clinton’s last year in office. Bush has raised that sum to $3 billion annually, and that figure will double if a proposal announced recently by Bush is enacted. Already, 1.1 million HIV-positive people, mostly from Africa and the Caribbean, have received treatment; many of those were saved from a horrible death not widely seen in America since the early ’90s. And more important for the long run, prevention programs are working: Africa’s rate of HIV infection peaked around 2000, and is now decreasing more quickly than ever before. Of course, George W. Bush will not receive the credit he deserves for leading on this issue from the publichealth and foreign-aid lobbies. They deplore him in spite of the lives saved.

Read Jayne County's political blog on the subject of AC, including this pithy quote
quote:
Oh ghost of John Wilks (sic) Booth, where art thou??? This sorry skanky excuse for a woman is the lowest of the low. A Nazi bitch, that would lick Hitler*s ass untill it was raw hamburger meat! She represents everything that is EVIL AND UNCLEAN in AmeriKKKa! She is living proof that abortion should be allowed in cases of the fetus growing up to be a sick retarded HATE mongering RepubliKKKan PIG!!!
Wow. The first time I visit this stinking cesspool of a forum in over 2 years and it's still filled with bile and shit. Even the name sucks -- unwitty, unoriginal, predictable. No wonder the celebration of babes in facist t-shirts is about the only leg left of defense on which to stand, given this forum's purpose of promoting the failed Bush administration.
Ah, yes. Bush's spending for AIDS in Africa. It is one of only two gold stars I will give him (the other for tapping his father and Bill Clinton to do tsunami/Katrina relief, an effective and much-needed morale boost for the country). Perhaps the lives saved in Africa will make up for the thousands of innocent lives slaughtered or healthy bodies permanently maimed as a result of Mr. Bush's War Under False Pretenses, but probably not. As the death tolls continue to mount with each passing day, let's review the war criminal's other sterling health care initiatives, starting with his suppression of Dr. Richard Carmona, former U.S. surgeon general:
Carmona said Bush administration political appointees censored his speeches and kept him from talking out publicly about certain issues, including the science on embryonic stem cell research, contraceptives and his misgivings about the administration's embrace of "abstinence-only" sex education.
quote:
Carmona testified with two predecessors, Dr. C. Everett Koop, who served under President Ronald Reagan, and Dr. David Satcher, named by Clinton but whose term ended under Bush.
Carmona said some of his predecessors told him, "We have never seen it as partisan, as malicious, as vindictive, as mean-spirited as it is today, and you clearly have worse than anyone's had."
Correlations to Stalin, anyone?
with polite pecks, Lex p.s. encyclopedia quotes don't bolster arguments!
Though correct in her observations about AC, Miss County misses the point. America's foremost grenade-throwing plagerizer in fact serves to undermine the credibility of the politicians she claims to support. Let Miss Bad Boob Job blab all she likes, because any public servant getting a thumbs up from AC will surely be tarnished by association.
Moving down Mr. Bush's health care list, let's have a look at the war criminal's nominee to be the next surgeon general, the fervantly anti-gay Dr. James Holsinger.
Holsinger argued in his essay "Pathophysiology of Male Homosexuality" that homosexuality is an unnatural and dangerous lifestyle choice, a view clearly incompatible with a job that would serve the medical health of all Americans.
Dr. Holsinger founded Hope Springs Community Church, one of those vile outfits that ministers to people who no longer wish to be queer. Virtually every reputable medical organization in the country has condemned such "ex-gay" conversion therapy initiatives as fraudulent and harmful.
The appointment of Holsinger to the nation's highest medical office would have a detrimental impact on the lives of millions of American gays and lesbians, who already face discrimination from some health care providers.
Mr. Bush's support of Holsinger also serves as a stinging rebuke to destructive, self-loathing conservative gays everywhere who have supported this president at the expense of their own brethren.
