I suggest anything from Alvin and the Chipmunks, especially off their clear red vinyl debut album from 1963. But I wanta know what the cocain budget is for the models at the kiddy show.

Sorry I didn't get to this sooner but it was Fashion Week sweetie.

Am I mistaken or was I reading in PAGE 6 about our very own Madge Madison? Something about him terrorizing the fashion industry. Something about Heatherette.

Madge,
any comments?

why, yes. i heard a rumor they were gonna use a ton of hideous fur, so i wrote a polite letter and received a lovely reply that they had a change of heart, and went fur-free. Of course, my favorite story of fashion week was this, from the NY Post:

I saw a lot of press about this going on over fashion week and thought you might have something to do with it all.

Unfortunately the step that needs to be taken is to create a sort of Fur-wearer's Annonymous.

So what's the report on the Met's exhibit of all clothes English ANGLOMANIA? I saw pictures in the Times last week, seems to be sort of interesting...unfortunatelty they always ingnore the boy's side of these things, as if the privilege of dressing up was restricted only to women. I think the downtown costume institute would have done a better job... Style.com has pictures form the red carpet party, John Galliano looks rather strange in his outfit...

By the way, it was nice seeing you at the MyComrade party a few weeks ago Daddy. My posts always seem to have that "nice to have seen you" line...I need to go out more (again). And yes, I forgive you for using your CELEBRITY clout at the bar! I guess I should be used to it by now...(story goes: I was waiting on line for a few mins. in front of the service bar at Linda's party to get a drink, daddy comes up we chat, when I finally think it's my turn the bartender turns to daddy and asks him what he wants to drink.)

It's true.
I just walked up to the bar and she was like, "Hi Daddy, what do you want?"
Of course then I was so busy talking to you Mister X that I walked off and left my drink sitting on the bar.

Andre Leon Talley has the worst use of the english language of any ghetto rat I have ever heard get anywhere. I live for "Full Frontal Fashion". Whenever he is guest commentator for a show, I absolutely cringe. Although he may certainly have a great understanding of style, he has a really poor way of verbalizing it. It's as if he usues every tired fashion buzz word to describe a fashion show. He is ruthless with the models tho, which I adore. I am all for a good read. I just hate the way he kisses the designers ass by stringing together almost unintelligible phrases describing their work. It comes off as really desperate to please.

Yeah suh!
I agree but he is so damn likable.
And you've got to hand it to him, he's made quite a life for himself.
I always love to chat with her, but then again... I'm not that big in the book learnin' dept. either.

Betsey's shows are so crowded, even if you have an invite (which I did) you still won't get in (I didn't).
I watched it on a tv monitor with about 1,000 other people with invites outside.

Daddy, thank you so much for the call. I didnt get it until Saturday and figured the cupboards would be bare where Mr. Blass was concerned. I opened the GenArt show on Friday at Hammerstein Ballroom. They showcase 12 designers each year and actually have catapulted quite a few careers. The place was PACKED. The theme was "Revival" and I was brought in to open the show as a preacher, mopping my brow with a Fendi hanky and shaking a "Fashion Bible" at the front row while delivering a sermon with the message "There is Fashion Salvation for YOU!!!" It was mentioned in Women's Wear Daily as well as several other fashion articles BUT they thought I was a real preacher!! LOL If they only knew who was hiding behind the drawn on "man brows" and tasteful Geoffrey Beene ensemble!

It's Fashion Week again.
Doesn't ANYONE around here care?

Jeeze, it's a sad thing if it's all up to ME to report from the front lines of fashion.
Our lurkers want to know the inside scoop.
Madge Madison, Sweetie, Kitty... HELP!

Well, here is a start.
My Blass show yesterday got good reviews.
Here are more pics.

quote:
NEW YORK, February 6, 2007 – Things are looking up at Bill Blass. Angelina Jolie wore clingy, spicy-red Blass on the cover of the January Vogue, and the company celebrated the launch of the new Blass fragrance during fashion week.

Did the Fall collection live up to the moment? For the most part, yes. Michael Vollbracht didn't reinvent the wheel, but he was in good form and the energy was up, up, up, with Johnny Dynell's remix of Benny Goodman's "Sing, Sing, Sing" bounding from the loudspeakers.

Having struck gold with Jolie's red jersey, it isn't surprising Vollbracht put out more knit dresses for autumn; one, a burgundy-and-camel color-block worn by Freja Beja Erichsen, had a timely eighties vibe. (A quick gripe here, however: Some of these knits would have worked better if they had hit someplace other than over the knee; and all of them would have worked better worn with something other than matronly flesh-colored tights. Odd legwear has been a problem at too many shows this week.) Still, there was plenty for the retailer and the customer to crave: a forest-green corduroyed-mink coat, a sable-lined silk anorak, and a pinstriped suit with just the right insouciance. A strapless black satin evening gown would be perfect for opening night at the American Ballet Theater.

Vollbracht's best effort, though, was a series of slithery mermaid dresses, done according to a technique borrowed from the great American master Norman Norell, who made a hit with his liquid sequined mermaids in the fifties (worn to memorable effect by Marilyn Monroe). Literally, thousands of sequins were sewn into place, by hand, à la Norell. The sterling level of craftsmanship really showed.

– Laird Borrelli

And this was the coat that my wife wants.

Daddy you are a gem for the Blass invite, I am so sorry I was too mired down in drag to get it together. I have been following the collections on my beloved FULL FRONTAL FASHION on channel 25 on cable. I haven't been whirled at all except for Matthew Williamson who made me want to piss all over my red leather couch. His show was a galaxy of peacock hues splashed against an incredible mix of very inspired designs. The boy knows how to dress a woman. Slinky satins, spangles, DRAMA, Drama, drama coming down the catwalk just like a dream. Very glamorous with that dramatic edge that screams to be all over a red carpet. He is brilliant. Carolina Herrera, who rarely misses the mark in elegance really took a nose dive. Nothing came close to her legacy of of style and sophistication. Her clothing was ill fitting and lacked the Park Avenue appeal she is known for. Tracy Reese had a good showing of beautiful, wearable clothing. It wasn't mesmerizing, but she held her own as a new fashion force under the tents. Personally I adore Alice Roy and hope she catches on like wildfire. Her clothing has an edge that is funky as well as smart. Sadly nobody has brought it like I always hope for.
