Wow, leave it to McQueen to strike the perfect note...

quote:

With a runway of broken mirrors surrounding a garbage heap made of props from his own past collections, Mr. McQueen created a stage to symbolize the sudden crash of luxury exuberance. The clothes he sent out were a parody of couture designs of the last century, spoofing Dior’s New Look and Givenchy’s little black Audrey Hepburn dresses, as well as their reinventions by new designers at those companies in the last decade — himself included.

Oh! I forgot about this topic, otherwise I would have posted something about the "Gothic: Dark Glamor" exhibit @ FIT, and the Steven Sprouse retrospective @ Deitch before they ended...

The Gothic exhibit was particularly good. If you look closely you can probably see some Z&S drool on many of the pieces. There were several McQueen pieces that spanned about 7 years... A book was also released.

I think you mean, "You can never be too OLD or too thin."

I agree.
She is still living it.
(I'm assuming that she is alive).

And as someone who is not that far from being that dried up old piece of shoe in a bikini let me just say...

"Work it out Mama"!

"She's my idol"

She's your younger sister.
