Welcome Versailles regulars and curious visitors. As the moderator of this forum since the Boards began, I've been delighted to see so many great discussions sprout up here. Several turned into entire forums of their own, like Elsewhere and Hopelessly Devoted. The next sprout-off is coming soon after Christmas/New Year's.
As the boards grow, I will be moving some topics into forums where I feel they might get a bit more notice - the sheer number of subjects here is a bit daunting.
I am moving "Museum Exhibitions" to Another NY as most of that is local, several music/fan topics to Hopelessly Devoted, and just generally cleaning everything up.
Now, back to the discussions!

Hi chi chi .... can i discuss the BEIJING club scene somewhere on the motherboards. i've been here for 10 yrs. and have seen most of the music scene EDM & LIVE come & go. Is anyone interested in what's happening in the peoples republic other than the usual PROPAGANDA we all hear about ! we have an ever increasing membership of artist moving here and staying.
let meknow where would be the bestplace for such a forum. thanks love. hope 2 see you in NYC

Yeah, and doesn't everyone make peepee in your coke? I'd love to hear about what's happening in China. A lot of American performers (like Michael "Bubble Boy" Saab) have been getting gigs over there lately.

Dana, there is a forum called "Elsewhere". That's where people write about "News from beyond New York".
I heard that they grind up drag queens to use as an afrodisiac in China. Is that true?

Drag Queens (what's that ?)
AFROdisiac here = bull balls & lot of chivis xo
i will take the advice of going over to "elsewhere" for a look but if it SUCKS ... i'm comin back here, okay ? Almost all the club scenes here are a RIPPLE of what the reality was back in the west. I dj'd the hiphop scene when it 1st started back in 2003. it was all poser and sports gear then. ( what should i expect when the overall hiphop scene in the west SUCKS bigtime?) i tried my best to "make it real" but the attitude just isn't there. i can say the same for PUNK & METAL ... it's a joke that will make anyone who's seen or been involved in the real thing ... SICK. then you get over it and continue. I'll say this though ... i fuckin LOVE it here and the chinese have their own way of seeing the world. (the total candy coaters that they are while we are the total brutal reality obsessed minions)
I now have my own dj EDM shows and tour chinese cities as a dj rockstar. the dj's here are the GODS not the Bands ! i've met more and more foreigners here who are choosing to STAY .. so that tells me i was right to flee the overplayed nyc scene when i did. fuck the olympics but they did a smokin fuckin job on making BEIJING beautiful and green. toxic air ? global warming ? were all gonna die anyway so better to have the time of your life than worry about every little thing coming down the pike.
having said that ..... i really miss my NYC crews/friends and i'm here waiting for YOU. also ... i come back every summer for a month and i see all the propaganda in the FREE PRESS about CHINA. it's so played out and boring because it represents a fraction of reality here on the ground. on another NOTE ... anyone remember Michael P. who opened "the SIN club" in the early 80's ? He's been here for 6 yrs. and opened a PUNK club called D-22. i just met him last week and will most likely try a few nights a week there to spread the good word.
