It's like the end of a forties morality movie with the ending meant to remind everyone that party girls WILL be punished.
I always wanted future chapters for AN, I don't know, I'm just partial to those who raise themselves with enormous will and guile straight outta whatever hellhole they were born in.
Since there were always Marilyn Monroe parallels, I wonder if this is what it looks like (either accidental or deliberate overdose) was it that she, too, couldn't face aging?
This is becoming like the Warren Commission/JFK stuff - everyone involved is dying.
She was resisting the DNA test to solve the "Who's the Daddy?" question; I wonder if the ex-boyfriend can legally force a test now without Anna Nicole's stonewall? And...does the daddy get that texas billionaire's oil money? These questions and more ...
That really puts up a twist of a question Joe, hinting at conspiracy. She was iced so the inheritance passes to the baby and.....who? Its Gothic.
But the final question of AN's access to the billions was not totally settled at the time of her death, as far as I know. Which means if the ruling were to go against her the fortune would go to the deceased hubby's next blood relative.
Hmmmm. The plot twists further.
I don't want to undersell the scathingly abrupt end to her life and the events that recently preceeded it. It does show how some personalities are extremely more fragile when they assume celebrityhood. Hers would now seem to be a dismal and dark story.
I feel terrible about this. Its funny because I always had such a soft spot for her and felt so bad when her son died in her hospital room. Now Im wondering if the trauma of that situation had anything to do with it? She was such a pill head though. I always wondered if that lawyer/lover/manager has any involvement? Someone was getting her and her son the pills......
Whippany, NJ, February 8, 2007 – Today, Anna Nicole Smith's grief stricken and tumultuous personal life came to an end. Anna came to our Company as a customer, but she departs it as a friend. While life for Anna Nicole was not easy these past few months, she held dear her husband, Howard K. Stern, her daughter, Dannielynn Hope, her most cherished friends, beloved dogs, and finally, her work with TRIMSPA.
Anna knew both the joy of giving life, and the heartache of losing a child. We pray that she is granted the peace that eluded her more recent days on earth, and that she find comfort in the presence of her son, Daniel.
'We always thought Anna Nicole was a perfect fit for PETA because, just like us, she not only hated cruelty to animals and loved her dogs but also couldn't be ignored. ... A long-time vegetarian who had slimmed down into a stunning beauty when she stopped eating meat, Anna Nicole ... posed as Marilyn Monroe in one of PETA's most striking ad campaigns, `Gentlemen Prefer Fur-Free Blondes.' It is a tragedy when anyone passes away before their time, but with Anna Nicole, animals have lost a true hero.'
All the talk shows are on fire tonight with the news. Speculation begins, and already Geraldo is pointing fingers at Anna Nicole's lover Howard K. Stern while Bobby Trendy (!!) works the airwaves with cunty quotes. The fate of AN's baby child and whodunnit possibilites are interesting, but all I can think about is the loss of a kindred spirit.
I think she had a real charm to her. Even at her most messiest you just couldn't hate her. I also thought she was gorgeous... even in her over inflated times just amazing to look at and knew how to work the camera. Such a sad sad life though. I used to be chums with her ole publicist who even back then had told me all the years she had known the billionaire who'd showered her with gifts and offers of marriage and she always told her that she wanted to show him she could make it on her own first. And she did, she did. I so wanted her to win all that $ and really fuck off that southern 'high' society. Bless her.... she was a beauty and lived life FIERCE. Madge we need u to pip in with a real tales...we know u knew her...
I agree with the sentiments of everyone here, and Lex you make me realize that point of yours, I mean however much she was alternatingly molested and exalted by the media, anytime we lose a free spirit like that the tone for everyone comes down.
I went to see Julie at P.S.122 this evening; the show is brilliant, and evokes themes around beauty, objectification, perfectionism, sensuality, chaos, innocence, fighting inner demons, madness, larger-than-life (real and imagined) battles. Julie evokes all these with her gorgeous moves, costuming, set design, lighting, masterful use of space, body, and wit. She really took me on a journey with this one, and I exited the theater onto E. 9th Street feeling changed. Chatting after the show, we discussed Anna Nicole (to whom she dedicated the evening's performance). Julie used the words about Anna Nicole that I had used about her show: A gorgeous mess.
Anna Nicole brought smiles to so many people on so many levels: sex kitten, spokesperson, media trainwreck, big girl overcoming obstacles...whatever the allure, she was like a volatile sunburst around whom all manner of life orbited. That sun just went out.
BEAMS ANNA NICOLE. BEAMS.

Thanks for posting our statement Hatches. We're so sad over here. In spite of her problems, she was a real beauty inside as well as out. And it sounds trite to say, but she did have a heart of gold. Though that real tragic aspect was always hovering. She had just endured so much. I had the pleasure of spending time with her a few times, and we shot her as Marilyn for the below ad.. it was an intense day of shooting that I'll never forget.. literally four hours straight of Anna Nicole slinking around as Marilyn, with the real Marilyn's "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" blasting through the stereo, on a continuous loop, over and over and over. Anna became Marilyn before our eyes..in spirit if not in exact likeness. She was enchanting. And will be so missed.
I too was shocked when I heard the news. My sister was like I can't believe it. And I was like Girl, you must be pulling my leg. But there it was all over the news, especially Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood. She was wacky, a trip, a boobalicious character. She always seems perpetually stoned outta her gourd. Maybe the TrimSpa did her in. If so, I blame Howard Stern (not the boyfriend, the perpetually icky so-called shock-jock that always asks every girl on his show the 10,000 question: "Do you do anal?"). He told her to go on TrimSpa. Did you see how puffy her face was and how out of it she was on ET or AH--one of those shows. She was going to buy and redo a house in Florida, she said it was a new beginning. None of us knew that it was the beginning of the end of her all too brief life. A shock. I'd also like to know who ANS's baby's daddy is. Hey, at leats she'll see that millionaire she married and her son in the big sky above It's a bittersweet moment that's for sure. RIP ANS FOREVER!
