Oh what a Night! We're just waking up from last night's epic edition at the Highline Ballroom. We'd like to thank everyone who worked so hard to make this one of the best editions ever. To the 800+ Gypsies who were there, our best-dressed crowd EVER, your obvious love and joy at being there uplifts us, and we can never thank you enough..
To all the performers, from the astounding Pixie Harlots/Julie Atlas number that opened it up, to the last notes of Our Lady J's Has Anyone Ever Written, complete with NOTS first gospel choir(!!) - you turned it out at a level that has raised the bar on all future years..
To our phenomenal crew - Lori Seid on lights, Dany Johnson running the musical end, Abby ruling the door with James, Torin maintaing order in the smaller-than-expected dressing room, decor novas Pablo Maine and Muffinhead, and the whole staff of Highline - who were so first-rate - words fail us.
So, I'll stop babbling, except to say I think we have found a perfect new home at Highline..Love to hear your feedback and please, POST YOUR PICTURES HERE!

Exhausted, limping, glitter in the bed, and SO worth it.
My top three:
1) Our Lady J and her choir - I was in tears, have always loved that song - Has Anyone Written - but she took it to a whole nuther place.
2) The Ho Hos - brilliant and overdone in the best possible way. bless them all.
3) The go go dancers were so en pointe this year I loved each and every one of them, soecially the nearly nude one with the feather pasties.
So many great moments, also loved the out of town girls, they give it so much - the new one from Texas and the one from Reno (Charlene?) standouts. Also Adam Joseph, Jessica Rabbit, and that insane opening number.
Thank you nightbirds, now the next 364 days will have to be dealt with.

It really was a stellar, stellar night. EVERYONE turned it out. I am so proud of the Rapture children, I must say: Linda James, Tingle/Mark Bailey, and of course the Mother of the House of Rapture - Hattie Hathaway! Our Lady J, Justin Bond, Sweetie, Jessica Rabbit Domination, Poison Eve, Adam Joseph, Basil Twist (of course), Pixie Harlots/Julie Atlas Muz, the Ho Ho's, the incomprehensibly gorgeous Joey Arias, Sherry Vine, Paige, Miss Webb, Darlinda Just Darlinda.
I know I'm leaving some out because the evening's lineup was so MAJOR and so STELLAR...but the ones above just stand out.
But one thing's for sure: NOTS 18 has left an imprint on just how creative, how divinely imaginative this show's evolution becomes as the years pass. Congratulations to everyone who came out and to everyone who gave so much to the night.
Messy Stevie Nicks.
