Oh, good LORD. If you're so savvy, then you should know that for just about anything you buy advance tickets for, the time on the ticket is only when the doors open. I'm sorry you had a bad time, but that's only because you got there so early and left before anything really got going - it's certainly not the fault of the people who worked so hard to put this whole shindig together. The NOTS webpage says very clearly that the peak hours are between 11:30 and 1:30; I read it ahead of time - perhaps you should have too - and didn't arrive until almost 11:30 and things were just really getting started. And it didn't end until well after 3am. If you'd stuck around you would have seen an amazing show.

Oh Jenny, Jenny, Jenny,
Nightclubs... (that's where you were sweetie, in a nightclub) open say at 9 or 10 PM. They close at about 4 or 5 AM. Most of the hot action happens aound midnight. The REALLY hot action happens after 1 or 2. The REALLY REALY HOT action happens about 5 or 6 AM. After that its MANHUNT. You may have been born in New York but you obviously have been hanging out in Danbury too long. Next time go with Messy Bonnie Raitt and leave Mom at home. She'll show you a good time.

I think this party was better than some of the really good parties at Jackie60. I met so many beautiful people, hung out with My friend Morgan and the baby's breath (part of it) that adorned the microphone is hanging on my wall. I'll remember this party for a long time. Thankyou Chi Chi and Johnny for doing it right.
Love,
Judy

Jenny, your description sound familiar. Did I meet you? As to your club experience, Abby recently said to me that a promoter can create a venue, hire performers, establish a mood, but the party goers have to make the party. Even if you met one or two interesting people, and could hang out with them for a half hour or so, the party would be worth going to.

Well this is my first club. I'm 21. My mom wanted to go to it too.
I really couldn't stay long because I drank and when I drink I get tired. Maybe next year I'll go with a friend and we'll get there at 11:30. But it was just so crowded I couldn't breathe.

This "Jenny" is certainly attempting to plop us, but you have to get up pretty early in the morning to pull the wool over Jackie Bigalow's eyes!

Aww, Jenny, you're a mere pup! Okay, I'll quit harshin' on ya, if you'll quit harshin' on NOTS. Seriously, you should take Daddy's advice - try it again next year, stay late, leave Mom at home, and twirl twirl twirl, girl!

Hello! I just wanted to say that I had an awesome time at NOTS 14. I always wanted to go and since I work at the KF, it was my chance and I took it.
What an amazing night!! First off, thanks to Ms. ChiChi for looking out for me with the tambourines (Blondie, you called me) and wow, everyone was just fantastic. Jimmy James is just a doll and what can I say about Boy George but just sensaysh!!!
I felt so much love and it was just too much fun to be with such a lovely bunch of people and the talent was terrific.
I was in a towering wig, black peasant top with ribbons, ruffeled skirt and black boots and I was covered in glitter.
See you all at the next NOTS!!!
Bisous, J

Sorry I was a little rough on you Jenny but we work very hard on this night. And by most accounts it was one of, if not THE best NOTS ever. It's hard to hear complaints like, "there was no sound to the video" and "the show didn't start till 10:15". I know clubbing is not your thing and to be fair the Jackie 60 experience is pretty advanced even for jaded New Yorkers. So I'll lighten up if you'll just keep an open mind. Don't be like one of those "Ugly Americans" who go to another country and complain that people don't speak English or have a Burger King. That's why you go to another country, to see something new and different. Next year go to NOTS with an open mind. Let the night take you where it will and as Apollonia says twirl twirl twirl, girl!
And as our late friend Madame used to say...
"We shall not speak of it again".
I'm twirling as we speak.

lia,
Your account and pics are major!
thanks.
I really love the crowd shots.
Especially this one. That's "Gypsy 83" director Todd Stephens.
Thinking about the sequal maybe?

Dear Lord, what controversy! Sorry, Jenny, my dear, anything connected with drag never starts early; and that goes double for avant guard drag. In fact for us aging hipsters an early night (starting around midnight) is a blessing.

Thank you Johnny and Chi Chi, and all the performers, for a wonderful night. I'm crestfallen that I missed Basil Twist while outside smoking and flirting with lovely 20-year-old boys and girls with whom, alas, I'll never sleep.

There were many genuine Stevie Nicks afficionados from the hinterland. My God, it's like a religion. One girl said there were a lot of guys, but they weren't hitting on her.
So Judy hit on her to make her feel okay.

Bless all your litle hearts.

Morgan

Oh, Jenny, just read all your messages. If you're 21, how old does that make your mother? Is she cute? Does she have any piercings?

Hey, does anyone know who was filming at NOTS? Some guy had a professional-looking video camera trained on me for a good chunk of time while I was up close to the stage towards the end of the evening (after I'd gotten good and sweaty - grand!).

Morgan,
To me my mom is not cute. My dad would say she is, but not me. My mom is 46 years old and so is my neighbor.
Next year I want to go with my friend who, by then will be 24 years old. She became a Stevie fan by me just a few months ago.
