Great question... I am sure many are asking that have never been to N.Y let alone NOTS. My suggestion would be if you are not currently subscribed to receive all the latest news on NOTS for you to do so.
You will find that the NOTS crew really go out of there way in helping people out with such questions and do have a link I believe toward the bottom of the mailing with Hotels, Motels and such they suggest that are fairly close to the event and reasonably priced as well.
I normally stay in Queens myself at this HUGE roomy Best Western, last year I stayed in N.J right at the tunnel. I MUCH PREFER staying in New York.
As the venue has changed for this year which is going to be FAB, I can not honestly give you any really great ideas as to where to stay but as I said The Crew at NOTS and subscribing to the mailing list will be very helpful to you.
If you would like to know the # for my favorite place to stay let me know and I will get back to you. VERY reasonable and accomadating...

Hey Stevies just wanted to post this link to a great place to stay that my friends from London used. Although it is not near the venue it is a great location in the East Village which is where I assume a lot of you will want to hang out. The price is good for the giant rooms you get.
