Since CROBAR's opening two years ago, Saturday producers CHI CHI VALENTI and JOHNNY DYNELL have presented their club-within-a-club UTOPIA PARKWAY in the REED ROOM there. Weekly, in this crowded "anti-lounge", they tackle themes from the obvious to the obscure with an ever-changing cast of "Method Go-Go" stars. Performances begin at 11:30, and DJ Dynell's dancefloor rocks to at least 5 AM.


I know there are a couple of Crobar topics around here somewhere but I'm starting this one because I have so many great pictures for all you wankers.

"Shadow Dancing" was our first Saturday in a new monthly series called "Peepshow". The first Saturday of every month we will be producing the entire club with David Morales spinning in the main room and me in The Reed Room.

It was all about the shadows the dancers made.
We had dancers backlit on screens up over The Prop Room and on the dancefloor they came out of these "pods" (like love Leigh Domination above). In The Reed Room the girls wore black cat suits and black top hats (like Co Co Domination at the top). We made a video loop of Jackie 60 legend, Jessica Rabbit domination in this outfit that was projected all over the club.
It was very beautiful.

This looks amazing!!! I KNEW something was really a flutter at Crobar Saturday night.

For the past month or so, Doug and I have been easing ourselves back into clubbing by hitting several of the mini-clubs that line my block (rock@trash, noise@luckycat, a bit of funk here, hip hop there) ...

But Saturday night, out of nowhere Doug asks me "are you ready to hit the city, the bright lights, the big club, the beautiful people ..." and I KNEW the answer should have been yes ...

But, yes was not what came out of my mouth. And I regretted it immediately. I kid you not ... the first place we went, completely closed, no reason, phone discoonnected, no notice ... the second place smelled like someone died, I mean it was ghastly I couldn't get twenty feet passed the door ... the third absolutely empty ... and by the fourth place we landed, my fiance was one cranky bitch, it was only 2am and we were back on the couch ... all the while in the back of my head a voice was yelling ...

SEE, TMT, YOU SHOULD HAVE WENT TO CROBAR!!!!

We don't know why, but ultra-bad Science Fiction movies - from DEVIL GIRL FROM MARS to VEGAS IN SPACE - always make for thematic magic. Tonight's edition of Utopia Parkway celebrates the most hilarious camp sci-fi films we could find, with plot lines including insemination of interplanetary dominatrixes by earth men, killer space eyeballs, and/or mutant cat people on Mars. As montages of the very worst moments of SPACE CAMP are projected on the monitors, some very gifted go-go stars will bring the Martians in high heels to life, including performance legend JESSICA RABBIT DOMINATION (recently seen in BIG ART GROUP's "House of No More" and the upcoming BETTY PAGE MOVIE), pornstar DAMON DEMARCO, butoh priestess VANGELINE DOMINATION, and California burlesque starlet DEEDEE LUXE. I had such an amazing time dancing at Crobar last Sat as a fucking MERMAID my dream life....I am all wet! What a beauteaus cast! I even danced off the clock! (Thank you Daddy for going old school for a few for this Grandma Go Go 'er!)
