I'm really sorry that you missed this one Mr. Joe. It was very you.
And BTW No one has mentioned wow beautiful the video and decor that Rob did was. (at least I don't think they did but I'm too lazy to go back and look)
Rob Roth is brilliant... there, I said it. You wouldn't know he was so talented by looking at him but there you go... don't judge a book by its cover!
i don't want to rave TOO much but i had a BLAST at the party! the lights were great (i need to meet this Rob Roth guy) the band rocked the space is AWESOME and the vibe was wonderful. oh! let's not forget the insanely INSPIRED DJ's and the GORGEOUS dancers AND the hallucinogenic toreador himself and his TWISTed fabrication.
The JFactory has it down. It is a party PRODUCTION. Alls you get anywhere else these days is some room with a DJ and maybe a couple of go-go's. It is the production end of the party that inspires the attendees and obviously everyone who was there knew they could count on Empress, Daddy, Glamnerd and the whole gang. Empress said it from the stage after De Mars, Click and Drag owes it to Trans Power.
Word! I'd like to second the motion that this event needs to happen again, and soon. There was a level of excitement there that I haven't seen in years.
Well, just as I was about to post about Click last night the boards went down for their upgrade. LOL!
So here it is...Rob and I thought about (and talked about) trying to relaunch Click in some form beginning about nine months ago. We knew that the night was much missed and very fondly remembered, and we both hated the idea of reunions for clubs - they are an ephemeral medium and do not as a rule age well.
For a night so focused on the future, it was particularly tricky. We "remembered the future" but wondered what it should look, feel and sound like now, at night.
With only guesses about who or how big our audience would be, we set out. And I must say Saturday exceeded our few expectations in just about every respect - well of course we could have done with better weather and no tornado warning (!)
The turnout was splendid, the audience for previous incarnations combined with the newbies, most who had moved here in the seven years since Click 2.0 closed. Such a beautiful, imaginative, UTOPIAN crowd, the mix, the rubberists, the freaks!
I can't thank you all enough, and the splendid performers, the magick djs, the doorstaff which was pure Jackie Factory - Kitty Boots, Hattie, Jessica Rabbit and Ande.
So many people have written wishing that we would do Click every week (bah!), month, or at least more often than annually. This makes us feel great, but it is such an enormous undertaking that I cant imagine doing it more than once or twice a year.
No decisions have been made yet about all that, but suffice it to say that your enthusiasm, beauty and support was completely inspiring, so appreciated and made the months of work worthwhile.

It was a lot like when I walked into Jackie 60 for the first time. I'm thinking, "I'm home." I don't kow which is more important: that everyone is so superbly warped, or that everyone is so pretty?
Chi Chi, Johnnie, Rob, Hattie and Kitty, and everyone that put this together, Thank you, thank you, thank you. Judy, thank you for coming. I love you.
Venus DeMars is my new role model. I told her so.
Thank you everyone for being nice to my girls-especially the guys that tried to pick them up. They were disgusted but secretly flattered.
Yes, like others here, I felt very much at home, thanks to the hosts. They continue to create environments for the rest of us. They inspire and remind us all what nyc is about, and why we all came here. Your passions neither go unnoticed nor underappreciated. Thank-you.
Ive harvested some of the beautiful pics here and added a CLICK 3.0 set to our FLICKR site - havent even scratched the surface of all the pictures but we will be adding to it in days to come..
