Troy, that was such a good review. I can't wait to see the new MoMA myself now. Am I wrong in saying that the last art style was the Pop Art movement of the 60's, spearheaded by the likes of Andy Warhol? I know there have been various stylings that have emerged here and there since, but have any of them really gathered momentum into a movement? I also think that the story of Modern Art is so exciting, partly because of the energy and excitement of the various new genres that emerged. It has really slowed down to less then a simmer. In fact it's become downright tepid.

Good reporting Troy.

That's pretty much how I felt. It's big, it's as humbling as The Louvre but it's modern. The Louvre and the Met were built for paintings and sculpture on a "human" scale. paintings and sculptures that are the size of a house never really look right in that environment. They do here. To me it's worth the $20.
(I think that it's going to be free Friday afternoons).

hola Stacy...

true... Mr. Warhol and crew were at the forefront of the last great movement... it surprises me how the label "Pop art" is still used so frequently...

with the growth of media, technology and artist independence through such, the focus has gone from movements to the splinters of trends
