The secret lovechild of Lawrence Welk and Eartha Kitt, The Main Squeeze Orchestra is every wildest accordion dream come true. These 12 gals with accordions, conducted by local accordion visionary Walter Kuhr, create a rare and irresistible sound that has been enchanting New York audiences since 2002. Join us as we cover everything from Bach, Madonna, and Joy Division, to Kurt Weill, The Beatles, and Queen. Opening for The Main Squeeze Orchestra is The Last of the International Playboys, playing the hottest of the cool Vegas Jazz and Latin Lounge. Bandleader Walter Kuhr, (accordion, bassoon, back-up vocals) originally from Hamburg, Germany, started The Last of the International Playboys in the mid '90s. Walter has gathered together some of the most accomplished jazz and Latin musicians in New York today: Memmo Accevedo (percussion), Michael Arenella (trombone), Steve Bloom (guitar), Mark Giammario (drums), Steve Gluzband (trumpet), Craig Rivers (tenor sax, soprano sax, flute), and Jennifer Vincent (bass). With tight grooves and infectious rhythms, this group will take you where you want to be - with a drink in your hand and a samba in your step.
