I'm sorry but I gotta say it.
ANY club night that has the name of the week in it's title is pathetic.
"Freaky Fridays", "Silly Sundays", "Rock Star Saturdays"... Ugh!
The NY club scene has been taken over by hacks.
I'm just waiting for "Nothing Fridays" hosted by "nobody" to open.
Clubs owned by investment bankers & lawyers who hire yuppie (let's bring back that word) promoters (who are just wanna be investment bankers) are everywhere.
The sad thing about New York now is that these places and promoters are still in business.
Bottle service and guest list... sad.
And it's "The #1 party in new York"?
Right.
Can't you just imagine the "guest list"?
Unfortunately I can.
There were two #1 parties last Saturday.
One was Daniel Nardicio's Absinthe party called "LA DOULEUR EXQUISE" (notice no name of the week in the title) at a secret location. This was packed and fab.
The other was Mr. Black's "Tubway" (named for Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. (Again, no name of the week in it's title).
There were 1,200 people by 2AM and people stayed and danced their asses off until Sunday afternoon.
No bottle service, no drunk girls with puckered lips from Long Island posing for each other's cell phones, no one calling each other "dude".
