you guys read my friggin mind! ive already booked a bunch of performers for BATTERED AND BRUISED at UNISEX SALON- 4/19, DADDY dj's- jello wrestling, and other artistic expressions of rage.
Listen, Bonnie doesn't give a shit about what goes on at that party. She's just glad to be able to crawl in there on all fours after serving up a slurp fest package deal for the lobster shift of the bridgeworkers! Anyone who can get lift off from 20 huge ones in 20 minutes while having the foreman surf up her loaf pipe all the while doesn't need any lessons in how to give and take.
All I can say is that Nardicio better go shopping for that kiddy pool he wants to use for the dList radio show now as there is gonna be a run on'em. What sick-ronicity! Maybe we should all get a bulk rate. BTW it ain't jello he wants it for!

Funny, even after hearing all the sordid details, I still feel the same way. And the whole "Earl deserved to get beat down" meme just doesn't ring right.
There is a higher road (near the place where 'pacifism' actually lives) that was not taken here. Avoiding/ disarming/ preventing violence - while still feeling like everyone 'wins' on some level - is a definite skill, and worth learning. There were probably at least a dozen red flags along the way to this conflict that were ignored - many missed opportunities to nip this thing 'in the bud' - on both sides.
Violence is a last resort. IMHO almost never 'necessary' (i.e. the red flags), certainly never really glamorous or even the least bit "manly" - at least in my definition of manhood. Indeed, it is often the refuge of cowards. There are many ways to stand up for what you believe or confront someone on their stuff without assaulting and trying to humiliate them.
So as far as the fountain goes, its run dry for me - which is a shame, because it was a cute spot.

Hey Jade, you broke this discussion wide open so thanks for that. It was really a service to everyone, the two protagonists, everyone else out of the loop that needed to know some facts from all sides, those who luv a fat bitchfest as well as those who may enjoy a minor spectacle but want healing in the end. Very thoughtful and sexy of you. I mean it.
Jade, I agree with Seven and with everything you said. There is no place left for violence of any kind in my conscience. But my middle name is Polly Anna. I don't know any of the people involved and I've never set foot in the place in question. I do wish I would stop recieving spam emails to parties I can't go to because I live some place else though I do underdstand the concept of promotion.
I love Earl Dax -- yes he can be a messy queen (who in this world hasn't been at one point) but in the 3 years I've been working with him he's shown himself to be the utmost professional (I've probably done more shows with Earl than anyone else in New York and out of all those shows we've done together he's been completely trustworthy, present, respectful, caring, self-sacrificing, and for a vast majority of them he's even been sober). Earl gives and gives and gives and gives. He's helped New York become more interesting and supportive to the downtown artists than it's been in the last ten years. And really -- if you can't be a messy queen ever so often in downtown New York than it's over for us -- we should all just retire and leave the world to the safety of the internet and Oprah. Earl I will work with you again and again and again.
I've pretty much stayed out of this whole thing because I'm friends with both Earl & James but I feel like I have to say something now.
Yes, I know Earl can get a little bit messsy sometimes but I feel like I have to stand up for James here. James can get pretty messy too you know! I seen her completely trashed! Earl is not the only one in this dispute who can fall down a flight of stairs, get up un-phased and go to the bar to order another drink. I've seen both Earl and James leaving with Messy Bonnie at the end of the night. So let's be fair to James. He can get pretty messy too.
Yeah I don't know earl so i can't say he's not good at what he does...I just find it absurd that he threw a drink in someone's face and everyone was shocked and outraged that it provoked a violent response, sorry, Earl, if you feel unfairly maligned.
This morning, James and I lost a close mutual friend, James Lyons, to skin cancer so this stuff isn't feeling really important right now.
