I'd LOVE to read from Latoya Jackson's autobiography.
I assume that you have it.

Don't forget, tomorrow, February 3rd the fabulous Ira Cohen will celebrate his 72nd birthday at Rapture, 8 PM. Please come. Oh, and anyone who read the article about Renee Richards in the Times, ask Ira about Renee. He's got good stories from high school in the Bronx.

YES, please!

Oh, and Daddy...for some reason the distributors don't carry that LaToya anymore; hmmmmmm. We'll get it and shelve it under Classics.

And by the way...
Check out the latest issue of NEXT Magazine.

Our very own Hattie Hathaway (aka Hatches) and our very own Michael Musto (aka Musty) are on the cover.
Inside they bla bla bla about The old Daze, The new Daze, Michael's new book and of course, the best thing to hit the East Village since crack...

What a great image on that cover! I will run out and find one. Ira Cohen's party drew a nice crowd of old freaks and I was so impressed with Hattie ejecting a misbehaving ruffian, just like an old fashioned librarian.

Please come on Thursday at 7 PM to the Goodie party. You can meet Hank O'Neal, ex CIA agent/modern ballet dancer.

That's right-- no horseplay in the stacks!

But really my fave thing about this cover is the fake Newberry Award medallion!

OK, so winter’s finally here. And in a big way! Might we suggest a mug of our essential hot cider to thaw out your bones? And while you sip away, check out these great coming attractions at Rapture...

Goodie Magazine Presents:

Issue No. 31: Hank O’Neal

Free Admission

“Lee Wiley, Djuna Barnes, Berenice Abbott, Eddie Condon: the list of Hank O’Neal’s pals is a who’s who of the most thrilling characters in the great Drama of New York. He’s a renaissance man of pictures, songs and some rather awkward modern dancing. And it’s all thanks to the CIA.”
--From the Goodie website

Tonight’s the much-anticipated kick-off party for Goodie magazine’s most recent issue featuring the incredible Hank O’Neal who, through the years, has photographed just about all of our musical and literary influences and has also produced some very fine records in his Broadway studio. Let me put it this way… it was at Hank’s studio that I met William Burroughs and Wendy Carlos on the same evening!
Goodie magazine is the ‘zine that continues to give all of us, at Rapture Café & Books, hope, as each square inch of our beloved city becomes fodder for the developer’s wrecking ball. Come by and pick up a copy of Goodie and realize that the cultural brilliance of New York is not yet extinct!
Or visit: http://www.goodie.org

Or...try the half white chocolate/half double chocolate. It's named after our very own Linda James who concocted this delish dish - The Hot Linda!
