On April Fool's Day, THE MOTHERBOARDS NYC celebrates six years of "being there", one of Clubland's most fluid sources of nightclub news, culture and gossip.

MOTHERBOARDS events take place in various (and always different) venues with a strong presence on "The Boards". This sixth anniversary bash also coincides with the opening of SWOON, a new weekly in Clinton/Hell's Kitchen. SWOON was an obvious choice, as the new weekly mixes the talents of JOHNNY DYNELL and SWEETIE, two NYC Nightlife Legends (and Mboards pundits) who have made magic together since the seminal BoyBar in the early Nineties East Village.

Hostess and drag icon Sweetie, whose club credits include CHEEZ WHIZ and CORNHOLE COUNTY, will preside and present the performances, as Boybar/Jackie 60 DJ Dynell spins, every Wednesday night beginning April 4. On opening night, they'll be joined by the HOUSE OF DOMINATION, and Motherboards founder CHI CHI VALENTI. SWOON continues with weekly performances, Johnny's infectious electro-house soundtrack and the sure to be a smash futuristic roof garden - make it your first new crush of Spring!

Sounds crazy but it is actually alot easier for us if you use the THRIVE membership system to renew - you can use credit card or paypal. We still accept cash but only for people with no access to CC. Its just that these need to be monitored and entered manually, so we rarely catch them till they've expired.

One caveat:

If you have previously paid us with cash or money order for a membership and are still showing your "gold star", please let us know so we can de-activate your old (manually entered) membership. Then go through the Thrive system using the email address associated with your account.

None of this applies if you are a former Board Member who no longerhas a gold star next to your name. That just means one of our manual updates has caught the expiration.

Write us at mboards@jackiefactory.com for any help wit this.

And if you need to use cash still, please bring $30 to the event and see me.

Wear whatever you are comfortable in. The space is really something to look at. It lends itself to drop dead dressed for the gods. Lead glass windows part ala Star Trek to welcome you to a glam roofless foyer complete with black marble pond and huge japanese golfish. The main room is verrry Mommie Dearest with a deco bar to gag the most jaded of club goer. Upstairs is an open air lounge with comfy geometric furniture, danish wood and in good weather the manhattan skyline watching you sip cocktails, smoke ciggies and get down to the groovy tunes of DJ Johnny Dynell!!
