Frankly, NJ, I know very little about the pageant scene. And I wish I knew more.
A bit of advice aboput your post, though: Rather than having some one email you privately, why not utilize the *Notify* function in the toolbar above? Then, when some one posts the info that would benefit us all, you'll receive notification of that post and it would save you from checking back. I am afraid that expecting anyone who doesn't know you personally to send you a private email on any subject is asking a bit much, no? Even though we are pretty good hearted 'round here. Good luck though!
Congratulations NJ! As a "sister" to a DQ who has also entered competitons, I would suggest watching the Miss Universe Competions for tips as well as attending balls such as the Royal Court of New York. Pick up a NEXT or Hx Magazine and check out the clubs. If you can interview Candice Cane or Angelique Ali, I'm sure you'll get a wealth of information from them. Are you entering Miss Continental? You are lucky to get into a big national competiton before starting off in the smaller ones such as Miss Fire Island or your local club. Good luck in the gown department since most of the girls seem to have theirs custom made (and I mean this sincerely).

I think Sheena's advise is right on the money honey. Study the "New York City Girls". Learn from them, steal from them. Candice, Angelique, Lina, Amanda, Sweetie... they all have something special going on. I have an idea... Why don't you walk into Sweetie's dressing room some night after a show and gush about how fabulous she is. Then start hanging up her gowns and maybe start massaging her bunions. Tell her that your name is Eve. Eve Evil. Tell her that a Mr. Addison DeWitt sent you. Tell her that some day you hope to be a big star like her. I'm sure she'll help you. If that doesn't work, try Candice... she's nice.

Bunions??? My delicate feet have never seen a bunion, blister or blemish of any kind. Why I was a foot model for years. A perfect size 13w. Feet like these don't come easy. And whats this about some wet behind the ears kid trying to horn in on my action? I eat young draglets for lunch!! On second thought, yeah send her over, and have her stand right underneath that beautiful sandbag hanging from the fly space...
