Oh, you poor injured soul...how tragic. Elevate it as much as possible, and use heat every couple of hours for 15-20 minutes to help decrease the pain and increase ciruclation to the injury to help healing. We'll have you in dancing stillettos in no time. And I hope you got some dolls for the pain, and use these liberally!
Forgive my ignorance, but what is Red Man?

LAD, I came home with many things in my purse that night (drink tickets, crumpled dollar bills, cards, wrapped presents with no identifiers, etc), and unfortunately in my inebriated state, I had no idea who gave me what, but yes, I loved the Red Man. The solution to all our problems, just grow a boyfriend in water, like a Chia pet. So thank you for that.
Rest, elevation and heat for your ankle, and good thing it is not broken, as that would be oh so miserable...broken bones are never fun.

I was at WS for the first time, the last time that it was held in TPark. Didn't want to spoil that mememory, I don't think it could be beat, these days.... As I mentioned, that was the first time that I met Miss Understood and George Penny! Back to B, was that his girlfriend in the Pinafore? She did not look too friendly, B his self! By the time I was ready to start "some trouble", they were gone, then we went to BC! See you at my birthday in January! Nurse, I've been doing all those things, how long do I need to stay off the foot?

Depending on the extent of the injury, I would give it a week or two to see how you do. When it hurts, you have done too much, so be careful with the heels. You know what may help is acupuncture...it really does help with pain, discomfort, and healing.
As for B, I don't recall what his girlfriend was wearing thanks to the vast quantities of liquor I imbibed, but she was there with him that night...she's a nice girl and it works for them, so let's be happy for them.
And no young flesh for you at the Batcave to feast upon (we all love juicy stories, especially Daddy)? Next time, right?

I don't know what Pranic healing is...please elaborate. As a nurse, whose education & training is rooted in the hard sciences of anatomy & physiology, health/illness, psychology, blah blah blah...time has taught me to be open to things that may not be considered conventional by "contemporary" medicine. And it is my belief that such things can work. I pooh poohed acupuncture, but then was willing to do anything when I had my fractured hip to help with the pain. Two years later, I still go, and I am a total believer in it, yet I don't understand how it works at all, but I just let that go and suspended my disbelief, and let it do it's thing. So my point in saying this- whatever healing approach you tried, it just may take some more time (and it may help you heal quicker), it can't hurt, and if it made you feel better, then more power to it.

Montauk,LI,NY is the eastern most land in the US, except for PTown. I'm, off to The End for some drama....Sometimes I get confused between PT and MP, when you're away from everyone, alone by the sea.... When I get back, let's go out..... I'll tell you about my date with Tony, the TS sanitation (wo)man; it was date #2. Date #1, which I refer you to GGTC earlier book where I first spoke of Tony, was in 1993, ten years have not been kind!

Oh dear LAD, sorry about your loss, but it sounds like a closed door has led to an opened window for you. As for passing the drug test, what is it that you are concerned about? Alcohol clears the system in 48-72 hours? Marijuana (usually clears the system in 2-4 weeks)? Cocaine (usually a week or two)? Benzodiazapenes (can clear the system in a week or two, but also can be "prescribed" so usually not problematic)? What else? Usually they don't do drug tests at interviews, but after you have been offered a job, and then the drug test is necessary to be cleared for hire.
There are detox teas at the health food store, and cranberry juice will help your liver clear your system. Drink up, sweetie. Flush out the system.

Well, I wouldn't do a drug test just to be sure you are cleaned out. It is all for a job test right?
On of my co-workers left the hospital for a drug company job, and they did a DNA test on her hair, and it was 4 weeks since she had smoked a special ciggy, and she got cleared without a problem.
So it comes down to what you ultimately want to do, and how much this new job is worth it.
You quit smoking, lost your job, and stayed quitting smoking? You have some constitution to maintain that kind of momentum. Most would have said "fuck it" and lit up. I would have...

Hi Lucille,
Not to cause a fright, but the job market, though showing signs of picking up, is stil dismal. I got into massive trouble a year ago when I was offered 65% of my previous rate and demanded 75% instead. It lead to 7 months of unemployment. Though things are picking up, in fact I think you (or anyone) very lucky to get an interview so quickly. I know a highly qualified project manager who has been out for a year now.
I myself am trying to get back to NYC, and there's nothing in my field. Point being, this is a survival economy, and you do what you must. Unfortunately, the most innocuous drug is fat soluble, so it stays in your system, while the others just flush away. Take up heroin if you must, but smoke just stays and stays. Keep exercising and drink plenty of fluids. A long time ago I had a business owner friend who scheduled me for a test just so I knew where I stood. It's a lot better than being caught by surprise....

As for severence packs, I don't know enough about the law to know what companies are obligated to do, if anything. Technically, it depends on what is in your contract or employment agreement, with an influence from the employment laws and precedents in your state (NY, of course).
Outside of what may be agreed to in a contract or agreement, I find most employments these days are 'at will', meaning you are free to leave at any time, and they are free to ask you to leave at any time. I think the reason companies pay severence packs is because it's cheaper than defending a lawsuit, whether they would win it or not. So you do have a bargaining position, you just have to ask yourself if it's worth losing a good reference in today's tight job market.
As for wigs, Sabrina's are fine if you're going to work for Penthouse. However, if you need something more corporate, stop by anytime.
Good Luck

and I lost my job! Well, I will take strenght from the picture. Darla, perhaps I will be working in Chicago? Well, today is the end of the rest of my life, my last joint. Now, I will "come clean" for the TEST! I called my DD today, his rent was based on my purchases per month. He was not happy. Darla, I am going to go to the Big Sur and see if I can get a job there. We could make it a TS place, UES. Anyway, now I am available for a "night" job, so what can I do, be a promoter or prostitute or something? Any advice?
