How appropriate in this season of witches and warlocks that all the girls are stirring their cauldrons and drinking in the magic elixir...estrogen.
It is magic!

Well, Lisa, I think it really is dependent on your natural hormonal balance- like Helin said above- to start, and then it depends on the dosage you do. I would say most girls stay functional to varying degrees while on hormones.
For me, it has not been an issue over these 4 years, but I have been on low dose. To be frank, it does decrease my overall drive, and having sex once a week is usually plenty (and it takes a couple days to get the desire to have sex again afterwards), which leaves the rest of the time for other pursuits.

Interesting analogy about using the dosing schedule of your pills like viagra...I do the same thing with my hormone patches, perhaps both conciously and subconciously. Because of laziness, I hadn't picked mine up, so on Halloween, I was rearing to go, and with the holiday spirit and all, no wonder...
And you bring up another interesting point, and that is family history, which is a consideration, among various other things, for boys taking female hormones- alas I was adopted and didn't (nor do I want to) open that Pandora's box. I made my decision knowing that I don't know my genetic family history, and with that the potential risks that involves.
A reputable doctor makes sure that patients are taking hormones truly as an informed decision, which is why most need a note from a therapist regarding the indication for hormones, bloodwork, and so on.
And if you want a testimonial, just touch Helin's skin...I brushed up against her last night at the crowded bar at Cheez Whiz- just like velvet.

As if I needed a reinforcer for my own use of hormones, but I got it this week. I picked up my refill for my patches, which I was too lazy to do last week, and I slapped one on this week. I can't tell you how my co-workers and several patients commented to me over the week- "you look great...radiant!" "your skin glows" and so on... and I know it is from that ole estrogen.

This morning we were having breakfast, and I went to take my pill, when the b/f grabs the pack and says 'this queen told me that if I take some of this I'll stop growing body hair.' This from a man who claims he wants to be a man. Could someone pleeeaze tell me what kinda things would happen to a man taking the female contraceptive pill? Is it the same as the tranny 'mones, coz i couldn't stand him to be any crankier...i think I'll start hiding my pill... Typical. I cant even go hetero right. I'm sure my first ever b/f is a queen. I was over visiting a friend last week, and there she was in all her glory, full face of slap, wig off, corset undone, lying on her bed. Anyways, her flatmate enters stage right, and says to me 'what are u doin going out with a guy who wears ladies underwear....Here's one we prepared earlier.' and points at Miss Krystal. he mite be right. he wants to take eosteragen now....

If only it were so easy. Estrogen does indeed make males' body hair grow not as fast (and conversely does help with making hair on the head denser & thicker), nor as dense, but just taking the pill will not make the body hair fall off and not return (and it depends how much is there to start as well, so a hirsute male with coarser body hair will have a much harder time and have to add things like laser hair removal or electrolysis). Birth control pills are much lower doses of estrogen usually with a smidge (or a scouche) of progesterone to balance out the hormones and prevent ovulation. It is not standard for men (who want to move to a more female form) to take birth control pills as the form of estrogen...pills, the patch, and/or shots are the usual route.
My guess is though the hair issue is really a segueway for your man for different issues...and since you say he likes to wear panties, etc. there may be well some underlying gender stuff.

"mummy's features and daddy's fixtures" = genius!
As for the cancer risk and hormones...alcohol is a risk factor for breast cancer, as it seems to increase estrogen levels somehow (and possibly toxic by products from the breakdown in the liver), but in transgendered males who take hormones, this may not be an issue, so cheers, everybody, drink up!

Well, last night at Lisa Jackson's & Jayne's show, Lisa sang this brilliant song about just wanting titties for christmas (before the hormones kill her liver!)...Lisa, am I safe in assuming you as authoress? and would you post those lyrics here? Such tranny poetry...
