I have been listening to a lot of Lords of Acid on my ipod lately, the Lust album. It was really major for me when it came out..I was about 19, and it actually made such an impression (and it's not even that great as a whole)...it was the first album to slowly tear me away from the slower-paced Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, Ministry, et al, and into faster music. Soon, I couldn't listen to industrial at all--it was too damn slow. Listening to Lords now, especially "I Sit On Acid," god it takes me back. It's practically old enough to be retro! Even though "I Sit on Acid" was still amazing enough to be played with some frequency at clubs including Click circa 1999 -- nearly 10 years after its recording.
Michael, I love all the bands you mentioned. I love the Lords' song PUSSY. I saw a drag queen up here do that with a small white boa between her legs. Everyone ate it up. also this girl did How Many Licks by Lil' KIm. Blew me away. But when she did PUSSY I was shoutin' along!.
Listened to French music on my iPod last night, including Serge Gainsbourg. Also everything from Grace Jones to Change, Chic, Diana Ross, and of course techno
Gainsbourg ripped off my former employer ( so did the Gypsy Kings by the way ) to the total of over $70,000 in royalties, which eventually after legal action was paid, so thanks for supporting the actual author of so much of the thief's stuff.

The new Tracy Thorn cd "Out of the Woods". If you liked Everything But the Girl (specifically the last 2 albums) you'll enjoy this immensely. Also, find the Kid Menace full vocal mix of "It's All True" fucking fierce electro/italo/disco.
My DJ Daughter "DJ Pickles" gave me this song right before she left on tour. THANKS A LOT PICKLES!!!!! I can't get it out of my head!!! It's so gorgeous. "Put Your Records On" by Corinne Bailey Rae He gave me the Daryl James House mix but I also like the original. Here it is on You Tube. Corinne Bailey Rae- "Put Your Records On"

I know she was "last year" and this year it's all about "Amy Winehouse" (I read Blender you know Anna Nicole!) but I never heard this song. It's very catchy. of course so is "I don't want go to Rehab"!

Totally Daddy, I can't picture you fallin for an arcadian bike ride with a latter day Sade sans the heavy faux-Island overtones. She's cute though, but are you really a prefabricated popstar fan?
Try flappin 'The Message' by Sanga of the Valley on ta yer CD player. You just missed him play live with a massive crew in the commons room of the housing projects at 646 Malcolm X Blvd. yesterday. Has he got fans? At the party the city presented him with a special commendation for his culturework. Totally sublime. Soooo sorry you won't be finding his 'Music from the Middle Passage -Tribute to the African Ancestors' on Youtube anytime soon. Its soo 2025 and YT is like, 20th century. As for Blender being your withit taste guide, HA HA HA HA.
I like thinking of you as being sentimental though. Wait till Messy Bonnie Raitt finds out!
