I have now gone over the top and planted everything from Alium to Zinna out my back windows. I decided enough dust and despair down here... Blue, purple, gold, and white-- it's a riot! My favorite today, Purple Heliotrope.
Tomorrow, onto the front windows with oranges and yellows!

got the window boxes planted, same thing as last year. now the country is a different story. the garden takes most of my time to plant and maintain. i love to loose myself in the garden. it's a huge luxury.

Which garden centre do you go to? I seem to only manage a trip to the Union Sq mkt.. but would love some geranium seeds (SO easy to grow)and the flowers are great and you can even use them in salads!!

The Chelsea Garden Centre on 16th between Ninth and Tenth. It used to be where the Tribeca Grand is now, but they moved.

Great idea, gorrilla guardeners. am sure we would get tickets and arrested in nyc.

rescued a plant from the garbage room a month and half ago, an easter type thing am guessing. it has continually put-out one tiny little tea blossom ever since. cutiest thing.

also recently mixed murphy's soap with water and sprayed any plants infected with bugs, and guess what! the bugs went away and my plants have stayed healthy. am sure something like this would work on window boxes, as bugs are always merlin's first problem while growing things indoors.
