I have just recieved this email from a friend that went to Danceteria, maybe someone here can help him. Gilbert might have worked at the Crobar.

DanceteriaNYCjust saw pics of Gilbert Stafford running the door of some
Fashion Week party. Does anyone know how to contact him? We;re old
friends, in fact he was my best man at my wedding and I met my wife at
Danceteria, BTW.

We used to do many duets, since I liked to get to clubs early and dance before they got crowded, oftentimes it was him playing and me dancing!
