Thank you Cautious Lip. It means alot to have ones work appreciated while they're still living.

And did I ever tell you how I envy your screen
name here on the 'boards. If only I could exercise a cautious lip ,I might have stayed out of so much trouble in this life.

Shhhh...I'm trying to stop talking.

Hurrah, maybe? It was also a disco club in the 1970s and a theatrical venue where I saw Tom Eyen's Neon Woman.

Yes, Tom Eyen-- truly major! Neon Woman, Women Behind Bars, Why Hanna's Skirt Won't Stay Down... He was really one of the two people who made Off-Off B'way take off-- the other was, of course Sam Shephard-- and then of course that little play, "Dreamgirls."

Another NYC Legend who is now swallowed up by Los Angeles. The amazingly talented Matthew Kasden. He ran Boy Bar's infamous drag shows with an iron fist. Went on to create Drag TV on Manhattan cable and then moved to LA to do hair for Mad TV. Where is he now? Photo from the B.Miller archives.

Where is he now? Are you kidding?
He is head something or other on MAD TV. (His name is HUGE on the credits). He is also stylin' the stars (like Barbara Streisand). And not a drag Barbara but the real nightmare herself (sorry Randella, I know you like her). I talk to him once in a while and saw him in LA a while back. He is ruling.

Gorgeous!
"I'll buy that for a dollar!"

Matthew was very influential at JACKIE 60 (1990-2000). He helped with our shows MANY times. It's no coincidence that the staff of BOY BAR also worked at JACKIE 60. Or that JACKIE was very drag and show oriented. BOY BAR and THE PYRAMID CLUB were both sort of JACKIE's aunts. Matthew Kastin from BOY BAR and of course JACKIE partner Hattie Hathaway from THE PYRAMID CLUB (The MOTHERBOARD'S Hatches) were both pillars of JACKIE 60.

And so was Bobby Miller by the way...
A FIERCE hairdresser!

It's not hard for me to imagine Hattie as a pillar.
