This NY Post piece on the modern state of Goth in NYC features many motherlovers. I was touched to be portrayed as such a mother/paver of goth, but really, I'm not worthy..
Click + Drag is featured in the latest episode of Product, a great little cable program. It's a nice little slice of what the ideas and inspirations were for our greatly missed night. Kitty, Chi Chi and I are featured driving around the city on the hottest day of the summer in a car with NO air conditioner. yeesh!
here's the info....

PETA sponsored a wonderful fashion show today in Bryant Park. All leather- and fur-free. An upset somebody tried to tip off the NY papers yesterday, claiming that the designers secretly use leather. A similar item appeared in the NY Post. Hogwash, we said:
"Notes from the front row"
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, bless their hearts, have called a moratorium on their usual petulant protests. They're even sponsoring a fashion show today "” for East Village duo Gaelyn and Cianfarani, who claim to exclusively use rubber tires and latex in crafting their designs.
But PETA might want to get the spray paint ready, because a source tells us that the pair has used leather in the very recent past "” most notably, in a line of freaky S&M pieces. Genevieve Gaelyn readily admits she used to work in a shop that produced leather goods, though the two deny having handled animal pelts.
"Some disgruntled leather fetishist must be on the loose spreading rumors," says PETA spokesman Michael McGraw. "If they've used leather, that's irrelevant to us. Calvin [Klein] used to design with fur."
Really? Did he get his start dressing bondage slaves, too?
yes, that was me... How did you remember that NY1 thing? It was at least three years ago. I was debating David Hershkovitz from Paper magazine. We were talking about Sensation, the art exhibit that featured dead animals, courtesy of Damian Hirst. In the end, off-camera, we agreed to agree. He was very nice.
And thanks for your kind words about PETA...it's a cause that's very dear to me.
Although more important than PETA I think you might like to stop Mr Rogers Neighbourhood! My 2yr old was watching it yesterday and not only was he in this bizarre plushy animal fur suit but he and the neighbourhood postman were playing together with swatched of plush! How very bizzare! LOL I know its nor a PETA cause but ... Just way bizzare and plushy
By the way, Maki, thanks so much for your GORGE pictures of the Mile High Club you've been posting. I keep pulling people aside at various Mother-related events and asking them "are you Maki??" because I'm sure we've never met. At the next Mile High Club (Friday, February 28th) you really MUST stop by and PLEASE introduce yourself.
LEX
p.s. Applause for my clitty Michael Madison on his press props. The fashion show was HOT! Packed to the gills, Lady Bunny was there with hair bigger than ever, and Theo walked in the show.

How could I forget about that debate!? I was so much excited to watch a hardcore patron of Mother was on TV "NY 1" in a debate as a representative of one of the most renowned animal rights organization. I thought it was really cool that you didn't change a thing about your appearance to participate the debate. You looked like just walked out of the Mother and joined in the debate then fought for the animals! It's very rare to see someone who is looking glamorous and being an animal activist. Cheers!
And Lex, this Ms. Camera Piggy will introduce herself to you at next Mile High before she turns into a Wild "Drunk" Turkey...
There's been so much written about Kiki and Herb lately -- all of it superb. Today's New York Observer has an absolutely GLOWING review. Congrats to you both! xx MM

That same morning.... i saw Dirty Martini on Sunday Morning show on CBS (?) featured in piece about the Exotic Ms World (?) Bravo to all of the motherboard media whores.. it's all good.

OOPS! I didnt see that post by ZAZ and SAT... Yeah Ms. Manson Gave me a nice big water color painting that he did...I wish he would have framed it though... I know beggars can be choosers....but can winners be choosers??? HAHAHAHA!!!!
Out Magazine's September issue has an amusing piece about "the unlikely faces of covert porn" -- guys that gave guys that first "tingly feeling in their loins." It includes some of the usual suspects, e.g. Marky Mark, Tarzan, Elvis. Then there's Daddy's entry: Gary Coleman. So *shocking* is this revelation - it's teased on the front cover!
Our own Madge Madison, doing the great work in the new HBO docko I AM AN ANIMAL: The Story of Ingrid Newkirk and PETA. I was so impressed by our Madge, of course by Ingrid and indeed all the PETA peeps shown in the film - it is a compelling, extremely upsetting and ultimately inspiring work.
So proud of you, little brother, but I have to ask - how can you watch some of that footage that you have to see without being completely haunted by it? I had to stop watching twice and still can't shake what I saw..
