The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts will premiere a new edition of Drag Show Video Verite this June 19.
Drag Show Video Verite gathers and screens rare video and film footage of male and female impersonation in New York City. We hope you have material to submit truly making this all new Drag Show Video Verite the best NYC drag show... on video tape. Last year's edition included 30 some clips featuring over 60 performers spanning 35 years of the faces and places of the NYC drag scene and packed the auditorium with a fun frocked up crowd.
Send your video (vhs, dvd, mini-dv, hi 8, beta) postmarked by April 2, 2008 to Alan Pally, New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, 40 Lincoln Center Plaza, NY, NY 10023-7498. Enclose a note stating when and where the material was shot, who shot it, and who is featured in it. If you require return of your submission include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Though we will consider all outstanding materials, we ask that clips not be posted on line or readily available elesewhere so that Drag Show Video Verite's material is as rare to see and unique as possible.
Segments should be no more than five minutes long and can be rough (verite) footage capturing one of your favorite or most memorable drag performances past or present or a tightly produced video package like a music video or documentary short. We reserve the right to edit material for length.
Contact drj247@hotmail.com to discuss the project further and any materials you may wish to submit.

For sure there are parts of DQMTV I'd like to use. It was such a fantastic cable show and captured so many memorable performances. DQMTV is an invaluable record of drag during the period it was produced.
By the way, your performance in Tabboo!'s Finokio is stellar.
